Find everything needed to build a glider that complies with the Flight Challenge National Catapult Glider Competition. Students learn important STEM principles, including the four forces of flight, Newton’s laws and center of gravity. Each Competition Glider kit includes specially weighted and sized balsa blanks (for wings, fuselage, tail assemblies and “Shark’s Tooth”), clay ballast for nose, build and test instructions and graph paper. Enhance the experience with the WhiteBox Learning Gliders 2.0 STEM Software Application (sold separately). This software lets students design, analyze and simulate their designs virtually then print templates to scale and build physical models. Class pack of kits is complete for 25 students. Optional Glider Catapult Launcher, foam or Styrofoam® build board, wood glue (or CA glue), wax paper, masking tape, sandpaper, scissors, hobby knife, cutting board and straight pins are recommended but not included.
