Great for first-time builders, the Machine Racer: Rally kit lets students create one of the fastest mousetrap cars around. Students learn important STEM concepts, including simple machines, power, potential and kinetic energy, mechanical advantage and Newton’s laws. Each kit includes balsa rails (available with or without pre-drilled axle holes). Enhance the experience with the WhiteBox Learning standards-based, cloud-based Mousetrap Car 2.0 STEM Software Application (available separately). This software lets students “connect the virtual to the physical” by engineering, analyzing and simulating their designs virtually then printing templates to scale and building physical models. Kits sold individually or in packs of 25. Safety glasses, hobby saw (or hobby knife), drill press, tube cutter, diagonal cutters, pliers, wood clamps, ruler and glue are required but not included.
