This PAVO bundle allows students to master the topic of the oceans through hands-on synchronous and asynchronous activities. Laboratory videos of real phenomena serve to engage students visually. Meanwhile, interactive/self-grading helps track student progress. Students plan and conduct a series of hands-on experiments and activities that will help them gain a better understanding of ocean currents, the pH of seawater, and shell formation by marine organisms. In short, this PAVO bundle allows students to investigate the link between physical and chemical properties of oceans including salinity, temperature, and pH, and phenomena such as ocean currents and the degradation of calcium carbonate shells in marine organisms. When all is said and done, students will be able to describe the conditions that lead to the development of ocean currents, and the detrimental effects of ocean acidification on marine life.
