Clearly demonstrate Faraday’s law! Pass a magnet through a wire coil connected to an ammeter and the ammeter needle deflects—an electric current is produced. When the magnet stops moving, the needle returns to zero. Which of the three coils generates the most current and why? Students quantitatively compare the effects of changing variables, such as magnet speed, coil number and magnetic strength to the amount of current generated. Students can then determine if their results agree with Faraday’s law. Two kits are available.
