Challenge your students to survive as they engage with the hands-on Survival Shelter Kit. Students learn important STEM concepts, including human energy, resource allocation, conductive heat flow and heat transfer. Kit includes supplies for 8 shelters, including balsa sticks, aluminum support material, plastic covering and hand warmers. Recommended for teams of 3–5 students. Available with or without four probes, which are reusable across classes. Enhance the experience with the WhiteBox Learning standards-based, cloud-based Survival Shelter 2.0 STEM Software Application (available separately). This software lets students “connect the virtual to the physical” by engineering, analyzing and simulating their designs virtually then building physical models with their team. Safety glasses, foam base, hobby saw, cutting board, diagonal cutters, ruler, drawing compass, packaging tape and probe thermometer required but not included.
