School accounts are configured for those individuals that are employeed by a school, university, museum, or science center. Any user that is a teacher, purchasing agent, lab manager, administrative assistant, etc. at a school location should create a school account. Individuals that create a school account will be verified by Flinn Scientific before school only items can be shipped.

Several features on our new site, including the ability to share wish lists with other teachers at your school, require that your online account be linked to an official school shipping address in our database. We have brought over your login credentials from our old site, but require that a school location be selected to complete the online account setup. this process should take no more than 90 seconds and the account will be linked within 24 hours M-F. 

No, with Guest Checkout, you can purchase items from us without setting up an account. Simply add the items you'd like to purchase to your cart, enter your shipping and payment information, and click the Place Your Order button.

However, setting up an account will allow you to receive special offers, build your own resource library and allow for faster checkout and easier shipment tracking.

Yes, any saved cart that was created after January 1, 2014 on the old Flinn website was brought over. Simply login and complete the registration process. Saved carts have been converted into wish lists on the new website. Once logged in, hover over "Your Account" at the top of the page and select the wish list option. 
Flinn Scientific is currently populating order history for all users with school accounts. This will include history all orders that have been placed since January 1, 2014. We anticipate this process should be complete soon.
The easiest way to locate a safety data sheet is to use the keyword search for the site. On the left side of the keyword search bar is an option to select what type of item you find. After selecting SDS you will only receive safety data sheets in your results. Enter your chemical name and click the search icon to view results.

If you would prefer to browse by Alphabetical index simply select the SDS heading in the main navigation bar. 
When you search for an item, you will see “Add to Cart” and “Save to List” buttons or an “Add to Cart” button and a button with three dots and three lines, which is also the “Save to List” button. By clicking the Save to List button (it has three dots and three lines) the item will be added to the Wish List you select in the drop down (if you do not have any Wish Lists set-up, you will be prompted to create a New Wish List and you will need to log into your free account). In addition, if you click on the item, you will see both “Add to Cart” and “Save to List” buttons on the right side of the webpage.
Once you’ve logged into your account, in the Your Account drop down menu, select Wish Lists, then select the Wish List you would like to share and click the Share button. Choose the “Share Wish List” option, and from the Recipient Name drop-down box, select the person with whom you would like to share your wish list and click the Send button. This option is only available for verified teachers. A wish list can be shared with any other user on the Flinn website who has an account linked to your school.
Once you’ve logged into your account, in the Your Account drop down menu, select Wish Lists, then select the Wish List you would like to share and click the Share button. Choose the “Send Via Email” option and fill out the Recipient Email Address, Recipient Name, Your Email Address and a Message to Recipient. Then click the Send Email button. The Wish List will be sent in CSV format, which can be opened in Excel.
By selecting the Quick Order link below the shopping cart, you can easily add items with the Flinn item number or you can click the Import button to upload your own list of items. In the Quick Order Import window, click the Choose File button to select the file you wish to import to your shopping cart. Once you’ve selected your file, click the Upload button.
When you are logged into your account and have a Wish List completed, select the “Add All Wish List Items to Cart” button at the bottom of your Wish List. This will create a shopping cart. Go to your shopping cart to select the button at the bottom, “Generate Quote.” Follow the prompts to complete all required information including shipping details, etc.
Currently newsletters are not available to public accounts.
